Bracket Fungus

I have a flowering Cherry which has bracket fungus. I am going to remove the tree and as many roots as possible. Can I replant in the same soil straight away or do I need to leave the soil for a period of time? I am probably going to plant a weeping willow.

You will need to remove as many of the roots as you can to help your new planting.

There are companies that can grind the stump of the tree.
As long as the soil is prepped and ready for planting, you can do so.
I would have a soil test done to properly prepare the soil.
