Other tree or shrub roots in the area of the new rose planting will create problems for the new rosebush unless you cut and prune them back out of the immediate new planting hole area. Use some freshly composted soils for the planting, water in with a product called Super Thrive and root stimulator in the same water. Water with a fresh batch of such mix the next 5 to 6 times watered.
