Q.Bougainvillea bonsai plant

Zone 34997, South East Florida | Anonymous added on May 11, 2019 | Answered

Received bougainvillea bonsai as a gift about a month ago. It was covered with flowers but they have almost all fallen off. Plant is in a sunny window inside. I have watered it when top of soil is dry. There are only a few flowers left. What should I do? Trim it? Fertilize it? Water more or less? Leaves look healthy. Photo shows full bloom a couple weeks ago and now with fewer flowers.

They must recover between flowering. After the flowers drop completely, you can cut off the flowering stalk right below the lowest flower. Then you can focus on vegetative growth until the next flowering period. This article will give you more information on growing these: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/bougainvillea/bougainvillea-in-containers.htm
