Bottle Brush Shrub?

Question

I have a bottle brush shrub aboit 4 years . it seems healthy and strong and flowers every year. I usually cut back about this time _ flowers over now_ I would like to keep it to present size ( 4 foot by 4 foot) Can I prune now and just remove the dsad flowers and how far down stems can I remove to encourage excellant flowering
