Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy Boston fern is about 5 ft hanging. However, it has started to yellow and brown at the tips. It has gotten thinner. I know it is the wrong time to replant but I do not want to lose it over the winter. My porch is the correct temp. for it and many orchids. The smaller ferns are doing well. Please help. Thank you.

It may be trying to go dormant, or it could be pot bound. You can cut the plant back, or in hte very least, cut back the yellow/brown foliage. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/boston-fern/trimming-boston-ferns.htm [1]
