Bok Choy Harvesting

I planted bok choy from a seedling I bought at a Bunnings store. It’s been about a month now and they have gotten stalks with yellow flowers growing from the centers. Is this right? Was I meant to harvest them before this happened? I have no idea about growing veggies but am wanting to learn and grow my own. Please help.

Yes, the plant has bolted and should have been harvested before this. Here is more information on bolting: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/vgen/what-is-bolting-what-it-means-when-a-plant-bolts.htm [1]

You can eat it, but it will not taste as good. Here is some information on growing bok choy: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/bok-choy/planting-bok-choy.htm [2]
