Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have been learning the art of planting maintaining harvesting and winter storage for the past 4 yrs. the one thing that is killing me is I cannot get berries to grow for more. I was using bare roots hundreds nothing and again this year hearty plants no fruit. My youngest daughter LA WHO IS 13 MONTHS is a blueberry freak loves them. therefor I invested in reaching out to friends at a great nursery Who directed me to several different varieties ages and overall eye catcher skills. I have a Jersey and a Covellle not planted post and I am going to transplant them to large pots to have better control. I just want my daughter to remember picking berries (1yr they will be her least favorites. But if I can keep these plants healthy and happy they will do the same for me when I see them I am reminded of my daughter Any real just tips on achieving this dream

Blueberries are VERY sensitive to nitrates. That one piece of information will change how you grow blueberries. In fact, it is the difference between not being able to grow them at all, and great success.
Avoid fertilizers with nitrates of any sort. Avoid soils with nitrates of any sort added, as well. It will help to only get fertilizers and soil made, specifically for blueberries. This will keep you from having to figure out what is safe for them and what is not.
