Black spots on Thai eggplant leaves

We have been growing some Thai eggplant bushes which have been going well up until the last couple days when I noticed black spots on the leaves. The fruit and flowers seem ok. They are growing in a raised bed that is filled with the broken up dirt from beneath where the planter was set up with 5 in 1 and normal organic potting mix. They have been powering and still seem reasonable except for the black spots.

Since there are no discolored or distorted areas (on the leaves I can see in your picture,) it doesn’t appear to be any of the common diseases. Is it possible it could be some kind of chemical damage, from something that might have spilled or been blown in? If the number of spots doesn’t increase, I think that might be it. If the spots do increase, or you begin to see yellowing or dying areas, it would be a disease, probably bacterial or viral. If that happens, you could try to get a positive identification and advice on treatment based on what is available in your area. You might consult with a good plant store, or with the master gardener association where you live; call the nearest botanical garden for information about the MG’s.
