Q.Black Beans

Anonymous added on June 4, 2015 | Answered

This is my first time growing black beans. They are producing now. Do I pick them and shell them when they are green bean size? How can I preserve them? I also need to know how to can small amounts as they come out of my garden: squash, green beans, tomatoes, cukes, everything really. I have searched but cannot find small amounts. Please help!

If you want to eat them as fresh, you can harvest them when the pods are green. If you want dry beans, you need to wait until the pods turn brown to harvest.
