Bitter cucumbers

Question

For three weeks I had good tasting cucumbers, but the last 7 days I started getting some bitter ones. Should I throw the bitter cucumbers into my compost pile? Or throw them in the garbage?

As long as they are coming from healthy plants, it should be okay to put them into the compost pile. However, if the plants seem to be affected by a fungus or other issue, I would toss them in the garbage.
