Birds of Paradise Damage

Our puppy used one of our beautiful birds of paradise as a chew toy recently. The bloom was probably about 5-6 ft tall and is now down to stalks about 1-2 ft tall. Is this plant salvageable? Do I just need to prune the chewed stalks and let it regrow?

*Sorry that should say the plant was 5-6 ft tall and is now 1-2 ft stalks. And should also say is the plant salvageable. I need to check my posts for spelling errors next time.
