Once the flower fades, look for the seed pod. The pods will turn brown/tan when mature, or ready for harvesting, and are woody and pointed with large, shiny black seeds inside. These seeds have a woolly orange tuft on them. Carefully open the pods and shake out the seeds onto a papertowel-lined dish and let them dry out. Once dry you can either put them in an envelope or airtight container and store them in a cool, dry place until ready to plant OR plant them. If planting, the seeds should be soaked in water for 24 hrs. beforehand to remove the orange-like seed coat. Please keep in mind that it can take plants three to five years to mature from seeds.
