Q.Bird of Paradise Insect Control
Two questions- one being I’ve put cedar much around plant. Is that ok? Second, it looks like scale on the plant(small cotton balls). Is this scale and, if so, what is the best treatment?

The cedar mulch should be fine. As for the scale, these tiny insects attach to the undersides of leaves, which may be cottony in nature. It could also be mealybugs.
