Q.best plant/grass/tree to to utilize as a barrier

Zone Smiths Station, Alabama | Tdfuller added on August 4, 2014 | Answered

I just installed my hot tub (on a concrete slab) and would like to put a barrier up to allow some privacy on one side of the tub (facing) my neighbor’s; however, don’t really want to put up a fence. I was wondering what type of plant/grass/tree/or shrubs I could plant that would look nice, easy to maintain as I am no green thumb and can provide some privacy.

One approach is to plant large ornamental grass, as they are big to begin with, then add some other plants to gradually grow taller. Most of these plants are fairly trouble-free, but you'll have the best results if you read up on the needs of each. You might also want to consult with an experienced landscaper in your area.
