Q.Best flowers for full sun and high heat?

Zone 27927 | valflan@yahoo.com added on July 7, 2019 | Answered

I live in NC and my garden area is exposed to full sun all day until maybe 4PM. It has been very challenging finding flowers that will survive those conditions. Any ideas?

I would recommend either some Knock Out Rosebushes or some of the Drift Roses. Both do not require much care and bring much beauty with them. Keep them well watered until they get established and also thereafter when the weather is at its hottest. Others here at GKH will have suggestions too I am sure. If you want something very low growing with lots of color and spreads out a bit each year, take a look at some Portulaca plants. Vivid colored blooms and very hardy.
