bell peppers

I’m growing pepper plants in pots for the first time. They started good, but now I see a pepper is turning mushy on one side. I have it sitting in a window and it gets the morning sun. Along with the mushiness, its color is fading in the same area. It calls for water everyday. It seems it’s not getting enough. Leaves are drooping daily. Can you give me any suggestions? By the way, they are on an enclosed porch with plenty windows.

Your peppers are suffering from either sunscald (which would be on the sides) or blossom end rot (usually on the bottom of fruit, which is caused by calcium deficiency, which is usually spawned by fluctuations in soil moisture and high temps. This is a common problem in both peppers and tomatoes. Additionally, your poor pollination may be the issue, especially since its in an enclosed area, which can be resolved by hand pollinating your plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/pepper/hand-pollinating-peppers.htm [1]
