Bears Lime and Limequat Tree planting

I just received 2 lime trees as a gift. They’re in 2 gal containers. I live in Las Vegas and get southern sun. Can I plant these trees now or is it too late because winter is coming? Our avg. daily temp is now about 70. Nights down in low 50s.

The thing to determine is your hardiness zone; if the average low temp is too low for limes, you’ll want to leave them in pots. Many people do this, and grow lovely lime trees. Limes are recommended for planting outside only in zones 9 – 11, although a limequat might be able to make it in zone 8 with special winter protection.
