barrel cactus

Can you please help me? I bought a barrel cactus with a thin rim of brownish spots along the crown. The “spots” have spread. I love this plant. Do you know what’s wrong and how I can treat it? Thanks for helping. I appreciate it.

It appears to be a fungus of some kind. If you treat the plant with a fungicide, it should clear up.
