Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a lovely eucalyptus tree, nine years old. I have just noticed that the bark has developed two or three deep splits, one over four feet long. Is this normal, or should I take action?

There are a few things that can cause that. The most common is cold weather. The other two are either bark borers or a fungal disease. Check the cracks for pests and treat with a fungicide, just in case the cold weather is not the cause.
