Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI noticed after snow melted that a great deal of bark has been chewed off of my hedge by rabbits. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to save the hedge? All the areas chewed are completely around the trunk and about 6 to 12 inches long.

If the trunk has been girdled (where the bark has been removed all around), then there is not much you can do. If even a little bark remains, you need to take steps to protect it. Metal mesh around the base of the trunk up to 6-12″ up will help keep them from chewing.
