Banana pepper and hot pepper plants don’t look too hot……

I’m a first time gardener and am growing many different things including tomatoes, cucumbers, banana peppers, hot and jalapeno peppers, watermelon, squash and okra and few other things. Everything is coming along well except my hot pepper and banana pepper plants. The leaves look like they are sagging and wrinkly and there are red spots on some leaves. I’ve been watering everything every other day in the late evenings around 5 pm here in southern Louisiana where night fall hits around 730 pm and temperature is around 85-90 degrees about 9 hours a day and plants are in sun all day, being there is no shade around them. Now we did have a a downfall of rain that lasted 3 days straight and once it stopped the peppers produced about 2-3 peppers each plant that was ready to be harvested. I harvested them but since then the plants have started to look bad ( see pics). I’ve asked people around here that garden and some say too much water some say not enough and they all say different things as to watering them, some say once a day , some every other day and some say 1 or 2 times a week…what is wrong with these plants. and how should I water them? None of my other plants look this way and they get the sane amount of water.

They do seem to have been overwatered for too long at one point. This has caused a mild fungal infection. The items needed are inexpensive and will benefit your entire garden.

Apply DOLOMITIC LIME and WETTABLE SULFUR according to the package directions. This will kill off the infection, while conditioning the soil back to a more suitable condition. It is also good to keep this around to apply once or twice per year for preventative measures.
