Bamboo yellowing stem

My bamboo plant has been doing really well. It was not in direct sunlight and was getting enough water. I noticed the other day the stem is yellow! But at the bottom is still green and the top! I have included pictures. Wondering if I should cut off the yellow part and keep the top in water?

Try using bottled, or unchlorinated water with a drop of liquid fertilizer. It is likely becoming sensitive to the chlorine, and if you use a water softener, then this will kill it as well. Make these changes, and if it still does not respond, then you will want to transplant into soil. You will want this to recover, as it will not likely regrow if it is cut.
