Q.Bald Cypress
how far from a house well is a safe distance to be planted? We have 2 acres but due to a subdivision being built up to our fence we NOW have water issues in the back yard. But our well is also in the back yard.

Bald cypress needs a very large space to accommodate it. When mature, it can reach up to 120 feet tall with a trunk diameter of 6 feet or more. Generally, smaller trees are recommended around water and sewer lines. Since you have a large lot, it should be fine. Their roots are not considered a problem. Site it at least 15 feet from the well, though.
