Bacon Avocado Tree

Question

Planted an avocado (bacon avocado) tree three years ago hear in San Jose, has plenty of fruits. But they don’t seem to ripen or get soft. What’s my problem?

Avocados will not ripen on the tree. They must be removed and let sit. In a paper bag works best, though.
