Azaleas Are Dying Slowly

After good spring growth and blooms 1st year, plants have started to die one branch at a time. Not all of them, out of 6, 4 are still healthy. This is about the 3rd time I have replaced them and get same results. They are dwarf coral bell. I live in Shreveport, LA and plants are from south LA.

It sounds like you may have Phytophthora Root Rot. It kills the azaleas slowly and lives in the soil so it will kill any azaleas planted in that location if it is not treated. Here is more information:
