Q.Azalea
I have an Azalea bush that I planted about a year ago. Most of the plant dies but there is one stem that is green with leaves. Is it possible the whole bush will come back or is it a loss?
This is a hardy plant. I had a lot of these in my yard in Neptune beach ,Fl. If you cut it back it should get fuller from the bottom up, however, I did have some that I cut way back because they had gotten so tall that they were sparse a the bottom. I eventually dug them up and replaced the area with cast iron plants.
Azaleas can be effected by many insects, disease and environmental issues.
You can trim away the dead material and wait and see.
If the shrub did poorly from the start you may want to refresh yourself with the growing conditions.
