Avocado drops all its fruits

Question

I am living on Corfu Greece and I have an avocado tree both male and female 6 years old.Every year at the end of May begin June it drops most of its leafs after they had become brawn.From a lot of fruits it keeps only a few and this year it dropped all of them. The last 2 weeks of heat I did not water it could it be the reason?
