If it’s been really hot, then it could be associated with heat or drought stress. I would up the watering for your tree during hot, dry days to avoid any issues. As for a possible nutrient deficiency, I would have the soil tested. There are several possibilities and the only way to know which nutrient may be lacking is to do a soil test.
