Q.Autumn Planted Dogwood Tree Watering

Zone 64131 | Anonymous added on November 17, 2021 | Answered

Our dogwood was planted in early November. i’m watering it at the roots daily, but i am not sure when i should stop. i am guessing i should stop when the temps drop below freezing, but we’re having an unusually warm autumn here in NW Missouri…

Trees should be watered regularly for the first year, but once a day may be too much. Water deeply about twice a week till cold weather sets in, then only water during dry spells in the winter. In the summer and fall, dogwoods usually need supplemental watering.
