What can I apply or use to keep dogs out of my rose beds and gardens? We have one new one in the area that likes to bite the buds and blooms off of any flowering plant. Also likes to dig in the same areas. . . . Help!!!

I read that article and tried the vinegar first. The dog promptly went over and picked up one of the cotton balls soaked with vinegar and pranced around with it in his mouth! That did not work so well.....

Q. Squirrels Eating sunflowers

This is the first time this has ever happened in my gardens. The squirrels have taken the blooms off of three of our sunflowers before they really had much chance to open and had not set seed yet. They bit them off right at the top of the plant where they were close to the fence top. Have you heard of this before and what makes them do this??

The do this because sunflower heads are tasty. :) Yes, this is a common issue with squirrels. In the past, they may not have realized that the sunflowers were there, so did not bother them. Now that they know about them, you can expect that this will be an ongoing issue. This article will help with keeping them away:

Q. Icon Photo by my Handle Name here

Hi folks. The picture beside my roseman name handle on this blog is the picture of an apple. I would love to replace that with one of my rose photos. Can you make that happen for me?

Thanks much!
