Q.Asparagus Crowns

Anonymous added on May 5, 2014 | Answered

Just planted my crowns for both asparagus and rhubarb. How often do I water these crowns? I live in Las Vegas. I dug out all the soil in a canal and filled with compost and growing soil, and planted them in it. I am scared of draining issues and to lose the crowns. Help! I just need to how often should I water my newly planted asparagus and rhubarb crowns, and how often should I liquid compost them?

As long as they are not in standing water, water them daily for a week. After that, they will need about 2 inches a week. You shouldn't need to add any more compost if you added this when planting.
