asparagus

I have an established asparagus bed of 3 years.the asparagus usually comes up by now through the hay thats put down in the winter.I took off the hay and theres no asparagus showing yet. Whats wrong? Thanks.

It is likely that it just needs time. If you are in an area where it has been colder than normal, then this can cause a delay in sprouting. What zone are you in? Can you provide a picture of the bed?
