Q.Are These Tiny Spiders A Problem For My Tomatoes?

Zone Ottawa, Canada | richatlaw added on June 12, 2020 | Answered

I am growing tomatoes and cucumbers in some planters outside. So far they seem to be doing great. This morning I noticed hundreds of tiny spiders all over and around one of the tomato plants. They are very small, but they are way too big to be spider mites. They were not there yesterday. Are these a problem? Do I need to take any steps to get rid of them?

True spiders pose no threat to your plant. In fact, they can help "clean house" while living there.

Should you still feel the need to get rid of them, this article will help:
