Q.Are red maple roots near a house a problem?

Zone Virginia--central | woodruffnd added on April 20, 2015 | Answered

Our red maple tree is about 3-4 feet from our patio and 12 feet from our house. Do we need to worry about the roots invading our pipes and house foundation?

You may be right in concerns about a Red Maple planted near a home or foundation.
Do you know the variety you planted? Some can grow as high as 70 feet with a spread of 30 to 50 feet.

I am listed a great link with some general information.
