Q.Are Logs From The Trunk Of A Large Split Leaf Philodendron Safe To Burn In Fire Pit?

I have cut down 3 large split leaf Philodendrons and would like to burn the logs in a fire pit.

I would not. These calcium oxalate crystals will be released into the air in an equally as dangerous form, except breathing them causes some pretty bad symptoms. Worse than eating them.

I would refrain from doing so. Composting seems to remove them toxins over time.
