English ivy doesn’t need much light to thrive. Outdoors, it is a shade plant. It may grow faster with more light provided that the soil stays moist and nutrient levels are OK. Indoor ivy needs very little fertilizer. Place long-acting beads or granules atop the soil in spring. Don’t use grow lights if they will warm the soil or scorch the leaves. Ivy doesn’t do well in full sun conditions.
