Q.apricot tree with green fruit

Zone central california--hot dry climate | colley.ar added on August 15, 2015 | Answered

My question is: why is the apricot tree producing a lot of fruit that drops from the tree when a pale green/yellow, but they never seem to ripen to a typical apricot color? Is it missing a nutrient or is it the variety? The taste isn’t sweet either.
