Q.Apricot Tree Not Producing

Zone 3013 | zoe added on November 6, 2012 | Answered

I have a large apricot tree approx 16 ft high and wide. It usually produces the juiciest fruit between Christmas and New Year. However, this year it has only about 5 fruit growing! I usually have literally bucket loads x10! This was the same last year. I’m guessing the tree is approx. 30 yrs old? We have had a lot of rain this year and last. I’m told this is the reason why it may not fruit. Is this true and why? And if not, what is the reason for no fruit? And, will the bulk of the fruit come late? It did seem to produce much more years ago when it was dry through the winter!

Many thanks,
zoe

ps-I live in Melbourne, Australia and it’s spring here!
