Apricot tree in sad shape

Mature apricot tree. Had a few leaves 2 weeks ago. They have all fallen off and the green sprouts have turned brown. Major trunks bark appears blistered and black and falling off. Limbs shooting off from these are dead. Any idea what’s going on and can tree be saved?

This appears to be an older tree, and has what looks like an infection. It appears to have had this for a very long time. There would be no suitable treatment for this. It will be the eventual death of the tree.
