Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a beautiful apricot tree that has produced fruit each of the past 4 years. Today is April and there are no leaves on the tree. I’m concerned that the tree may have died. There does appear to be some new branches that have sprouted but these are also bald. I did trim a couple branches during the winter in January. I also have a peach, apple, pear, orange trees in the yard and they are flowering. I live in the San Jose area. Is there anything I can do?

As long as it is green below the bark, it will leaf out. I would give it a little additional time. The cold weather could have confused the natural progression for it. Also, there is a chance that trimming in January may have opened the tree up to bud damage from the cold as well.
