Apricot Slow Growth in Pot

Question

Last year I bought a nice healthy apricot tree in a 15 gallon container. I never planted it but watered it and put it in a sunny place next to my cherry tree. The tree is healthy but has shown no signs of growth in the pot in past year. Why no growth or blossoms?
