apricot fruiting

Question

I have a nectarine and apricot tree within 8 ft. of each other planted 3 years ago. Both have loads of blossom which I self pollinate. The nectarine gives loads of fruit but the apricot produced just one fruit last year and only 8 this year. I prune both in early autumn. Where am I going wrong?

Lack of fruit on the Apricot does indicate and issue, but it likely can be corrected with some work.

Keep in mind that an Apricot tree does need to be 3 to 4 years old before producing a crop.
It is also very important that your are growing the correct cultivator to your growing zone.
It is key that the new tree not produce fruit in the first growing years to ensure it’s future health and fruit production.
