Q.Apple trees in NJ

Anonymous added on September 7, 2015 | Answered

My two apple trees have had yellow leaves with brown spots the last few years but still bore fruit on time. This year the fruit showed up months too early then rotted on the tree. What would cause this?

It sounds like the tree has a fungus, likely apple scab. It can be treated with a fungicide. This article will also help with more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/apples/apple-tree-diseases.htm
