Apple tree

I got an apple tree Feb 2016. In winter the leaves fell off. Now in June, I see new leaves at the bottom of the plant. Images attached. Does this look normal.

Those leaves are just suckers and should be trimmed off. Fruit trees frequently get suckers. This article should help:
