Aphids on Roses

I have been told to use banana peels for aphid control on rose bushes. How? Just lay the peels out there? Cut them up? Dig them in?

I have not tried this, so I cannot determine if it is true, but supposedly this works when you bury them in the soil around the bush. If you are looking for a more sure-fire treatment for aphids, then I would recommend neem oil. It is very effective in treating these pests and is safe to use.
