Aphids (I think) on Zucchinni

Hi Again, Everyone;

I was checking one of our Zucchinni plants this evening because I noticed the leaves are looking really strange. Not only are they turning yellow and brown and getting brittle, but some look very pale, and in the center of the plant is some sort of white stuff that almost looks like frost. Of course, I know it’s impossible to be frost because it’s June and I’m in the Sonoran Desert.

Anyway, upon closer inspection, I think I discovered what the culprit – or should I say culprits – are. I noticed small insects gathered on one of the leaves. When I looked on the underside of another leaf, it was covered – litterally – with what I think were aphids. They were very small, about the size of a pin head, and green. I looked on another leaf and it had the same thing. Then I realized the other insect I was seeing were small ants.

I’m afraid I believe I know the answer to this question, but the plant should be removed and destroyed, shouldn’t it?

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

This sounds like Aphids!

Start to treat them right away, they can devour plants and spread.
I like Neem Oil, its organic and safe for people and the bees.
