Q.ants on hibiscus

Anonymous added on September 17, 2015 | Answered

I want to overwinter a potted hibiscus in my home, but I noticed that ants are living in the pot/dirt. When I water it, they swarm out. How do I get rid of them before bringing it in?

You can get rid of them by treating your soil with a pesticide or by replacing the soil in the pot (which is likely the best way to go). Cornmeal is often used in home remedies for treating ants.
