Q.Ants in my rubber tree houseplant

I have tiny black ants in my rubber tree houseplant.

1. How do I get the out and 2. How do I keep them out? I have had this plant about 4 years and it is beautiful and I would hate to have it die. Please help!!

The plant is likely suffering from a pest of some type, from mites to aphids, which secret sticky honeydew that attracts ants. You can get rid of them by treating your plant with neem oil.
