Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI was given this plant at Christmas and it is in a bright room but not in direct sun. I am watering it moderately as suggested. Some of the leaves are developing large brown patches and I am not sure what to do. Is it likely to be caused by something I am doing or omitting to do care-wise? Do you advise removing the damaged leaves and, if so, at what point – i.e. at the base or the top? Thank you.

It sounds like fungal leaf spot. If possible, trim away infected leaves (to the base, if desired) and make sure the leaves stay dry. Normally this issue will clear up on its own if you do this. Keep it away from other plants though as it can spread.
