Another Cherry Tree Question

I recently posted a question about my cherry tree. All top growth seems to have halted and leave are dropping. It was reccomended \”ITreating with a fungicide, and pruning all lower growth coming from the root ball will be necessary, as will proper care\” another question I have is..do I have to take off all that lower growth I see about 6″ from the ground? What happens if I leave it there to continue to grow? its doing so much better that the top of the tree. I just dont want to trim the lower good growth and lose the entire tree. there not many leaves left on the upper part of the tree. If I feel this area may stay too wet in the late spring and when I get a big rain fall through the summer months, should I look into moving the entire tree before it gets too big? I f I do want to move it, how much diameter out from the base of the tree would I have to keep the root ball? The lower growth you see in the pic is nice and healthy and growing very fast. Thanks

The bottom of the tree is a different type of cherry, likely, non-fruiting. Keeping that growth will kill off the top, which will result in the rootstock taking over. This is not the same tree that you have purchased.

Moving it will, likely, kill it as well. A stressed tree will not handle added stress, very well, unfortunately.
